Fact-Checking Policy

This policy explains our sourcing standard and how we handle factual accuracy.

Our sourcing standard

Apla Nagpur sources stories from verified RSS feeds and Google News — established publishers and news agencies, not unverified social media posts.

Rewriting, with editorial oversight

Each sourced story is rewritten and translated into English, Hindi, and Marathi through a process designed to preserve the facts of the original reporting while adapting language and format for our readers. This is not independent, on-the-ground reporting — it is a rewrite of already-published news.

Our editorial pipeline includes automated checks (duplicate detection, broken image detection) and human review before and after publishing.

When we get it wrong

If a rewrite introduces an inaccuracy, or the original source is later corrected or retracted, we correct or remove the story on our end too. See our Corrections & Transparency policy for how to report an issue and how we handle it.
