L.A.D. College Welcomes Freshers with Two-Day Induction Program

L.A.D. & Smt. R.P. College for Women in Nagpur recently organized a two-day Student Induction Programme (SIP) on September 2 and 3, aimed at facilitating the transition of approximately 200 first-year students into college life. This initiative, led by the Students’ Quality Assurance Cell (SQAC), provided a comprehensive introduction to the college environment, covering academic departments, administrative procedures, and co-curricular activities.

The inaugural session took place in the college's Conference Hall, attended by key figures including Principal Dr. Pooja Pathak and Vice-Principal Dr. Ruta Dharmadhikari. The event commenced with traditional rituals, emphasizing the importance of community and belonging among students. Dr. Dharmadhikari elaborated on the SIP's objectives, while Dr. Archana Masram discussed the significance of holistic development and the learner-centric approach of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The first day featured a documentary showcasing the Women’s Education Society's history and its contributions to women's empowerment since 1932. Students engaged in various activities, including a session on human trafficking awareness led by Mrs. Shalaka Biniwale, and participated in hands-on projects such as pot painting and stock market simulations. The day concluded with a lively Zumba session, promoting fitness and social interaction among the newcomers.

On the second day, students received career guidance through a session on Career Katta, where Dr. Shivani Balkundi outlined various opportunities and certification courses. An administrative orientation familiarized students with the college's operational aspects, including admissions and scholarship information. Additionally, a traffic safety session was conducted in collaboration with the NSS Unit, reinforcing the importance of road safety and responsible citizenship.

The program also included cultural activities, such as ShravanSari, which fostered teamwork and camaraderie among students. The Student Induction Programme 2026 successfully combined institutional orientation, skill development, and cultural engagement, marking a significant milestone in the students' academic journey. Organizers expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts that made the event a meaningful start for the new students.
