Nagpur Police Conduct Sound Level Checks for Festivals

In anticipation of the upcoming festival season, Nagpur Police have initiated checks on DJ sound systems to ensure adherence to noise pollution regulations. This proactive measure aims to address concerns regarding excessive noise and the use of laser lights during public celebrations.

The inspection took place at the Police Commissioner’s Office, where Police Commissioner Vishwas Nangre Patil oversaw the testing of a DJ setup that included four bass units and four top speakers. During the evaluation, various songs were played, and officials utilized a decibel meter to measure sound levels, ensuring they remain within the legal limits.

In addition to sound levels, the police also assessed the capacity and safety of laser lights used in conjunction with DJ systems. This comprehensive check is part of the police's efforts to ensure that all sound systems and lighting equipment comply with established regulations during public events and festivals.

The police are preparing to issue guidelines to DJ operators and event organizers, outlining the permissible sound levels and the appropriate use of laser equipment. This initiative reflects the authorities' commitment to maintaining a balance between festive celebrations and community peace.
