Eyewitnesses recounted that the confrontation involved Razzaq Sheikh, the brother of notorious gangster Bhuru, who narrowly escaped the situation before it escalated further.
The incident comes in the wake of heightened tensions following the tragic murder of Razzaq's 14-year-old son, Abid, also known as Abu Sheikh. Abid was allegedly killed just days prior, on Thursday night, in the vicinity of the Jaripatka police station. This violent act has intensified conflicts between Razzaq and individuals associated with him, leading to an atmosphere of fear in the community.
Initial reports indicate that the confrontation near Munje Chowk stemmed from a dispute Razzaq had on Saturday near Lohapul with Bhuru's brother-in-law and other relatives. This disagreement arose from Razzaq's anger over an alleged attack on his brother Bhuru and his nephew. As Razzaq operates a travel business in the Munje Chowk area, the presence of armed individuals at his workplace caused significant alarm among local residents.
As the situation unfolded, traffic police personnel who witnessed the incident promptly alerted the control room. A team from Sitabuldi Police arrived at the scene and detained several suspects for questioning. The police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the confrontation and the individuals involved.
In the aftermath of Abid's murder, tensions have remained high in the Jaripatka area. Reports suggest that Razzaq engaged in vandalism, damaging shops in the wake of his son's death. Authorities are also investigating claims of a potential attack planned for the court appearance of the suspects involved in the teenager's murder.
