Motorola Set to Launch Wide Razr Foldable with Snapdragon 8 Gen 5
Motorola's upcoming wide Razr foldable, featuring advanced specifications and a sleek design, is expected to debut in mid-December.

Motorola is gearing up to introduce its latest innovation, the wide Razr foldable, which is anticipated to launch in mid-December. This device, internally referred to as Razr Flex, boasts a design reminiscent of the iPhone Duo and Galaxy Z Fold 8, with concept renders and specifications recently leaked. The phone is expected to feature a high-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, enhancing its performance capabilities.
The wide Razr foldable is designed to be compact, measuring 110 x 149 x 5.8mm when unfolded and 110 x 76 x 12.6mm when folded. These dimensions indicate that it will be shorter and narrower than the Galaxy Z Fold 8, making it potentially easier to handle. Additionally, the device will have rounder corners compared to its competitors, contributing to a unique aesthetic. However, at 12.6mm thick when folded, it will be noticeably bulkier than the Galaxy Z Fold 8, with a thickness difference of approximately 2.9mm.
In terms of display, the inner screen will measure 6.92 inches, smaller than the Galaxy Z Fold 8's 7.6 inches, while the cover display will be 4.97 inches. Both displays are expected to feature OLED technology, with the foldable display supporting a refresh rate of 165Hz and resolutions of 1728 x 2364 pixels for the main screen and 1736 x 1140 pixels for the cover screen. The design will include a centered punch-hole cutout for the front-facing camera on the cover screen and a top-right positioned camera on the main display.
The rear of the device will showcase a horizontal camera bar housing two 50-megapixel cameras, along with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens for enhanced photography capabilities. The phone will also include a 5000mAh battery with support for 25W wireless charging and USB-PD wired charging. Moreover, it will be IP48 and IP49 certified for water and dust resistance, and will support Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 with LE Audio.
As for software, the wide Razr foldable will run on Android 17 out of the box. It will feature a physical nano SIM card slot alongside eSIM support, a power button that doubles as a fingerprint scanner, and a dedicated AI key. With its impressive specifications and innovative design, Motorola's wide Razr foldable is poised to make a significant impact in the foldable smartphone market upon its release.
