Nothing has unveiled its latest audio innovation, the Headphone (1) Pro, marking a significant advancement in its product line. This new model boasts a sophisticated triple driver architecture designed to enhance audio performance. Each ear cup houses three distinct drivers: a 40mm dynamic driver for bass, a precision driver for mid-range frequencies, and an xMEMS driver for treble and high notes. This configuration allows the headphones to cover a wide frequency range, promising listeners an immersive sound experience.
The design of the Headphone (1) Pro incorporates premium materials, featuring an aluminum frame, a titanium hanger, and scratch-resistant glass. The ear cups are equipped with softer cushions made from synthetic leather and nylon fabric, designed for comfort during extended use. Notably, an 8mm silicon baffle wall is integrated into the foam structure to enhance the acoustic seal around the ears, making them suitable for users with glasses or piercings. Weighing in at 327 grams, these headphones are lighter than their predecessor but remain heavier than many competitors in the market.
One of the standout features of the Headphone (1) Pro is its three-stage active noise cancellation (ANC), which reaches a maximum of 46dB, surpassing the previous model's capabilities. The headphones utilize ten microphones to effectively filter out ambient noise, ensuring a clearer listening experience. Users can customize their audio settings through the Nothing X app, which offers various EQ profiles, including a unique studio mode developed in collaboration with Metropolis Studios for critical listening.
In terms of audio quality, the Headphone (1) Pro is Hi-Res Audio certified and includes a spatial audio mode, enhancing the listening experience. The headphones also come with an IP52 rating for dust and water resistance, making them suitable for various environments. Physical controls from previous models have been retained, providing users with familiar functionality.
Battery life is another highlight, with the Headphone (1) Pro expected to deliver around 30 hours of use with ANC activated and up to 68 hours without it. A quick five-minute charge feature allows for two hours of playback, catering to users on the go. The headphones will be available in silver and grey starting September 29, retailing at $399, appealing to both audiophiles and casual listeners alike.
