The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell has released the initial Centralized Admission Process (CAP) list for first-year B.Pharmacy and Pharm.D courses for the academic year 2026-27. This first list opens up admission opportunities for a total of 28,139 students across 528 pharmacy colleges in the state, highlighting a competitive landscape for aspiring pharmacy students.
A total of 46,984 seats are available in the participating institutions. Out of 44,329 students who registered for the admission process, 35,988 submitted their college preferences during the designated period, making them eligible for the first CAP round. The allocation of seats in this round has been a significant step in the admission journey for many students.
Among those considered, 14,736 students have been successfully allotted their first-choice college. Their admissions fall under the 'Auto-freeze' category, which means they must accept the allotted seat. Students who decline their first-choice allotment will not be able to participate in the subsequent CAP rounds and will instead need to enter the open round, also known as the institutional round.
Students who have been allocated a college in the first CAP round are required to physically report to their respective institutions between September 28 and September 30, 2026. This step is crucial for confirming their admission, as they must submit necessary documents and pay the required fees during this period.
Looking ahead, the Maharashtra State CET Cell plans to announce the tentative vacancy list for the second CAP round on October 1, 2026. Students are advised to adhere to the schedule and follow the instructions provided by the CET Cell to ensure a smooth admission process for the upcoming rounds.
