September 29 Weather Update: North India Sees Rain Relief, South Faces Heavy Showers

On September 29, the weather across India is set to shift, with a notable decrease in rainfall in northern states. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has indicated that regions such as Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab will likely remain dry, marking a significant change after recent heavy rains.
The IMD's latest forecast reveals that Uttarakhand, which has experienced rain and snowfall recently, will see improved weather conditions. No heavy rain warnings are issued for the state, although light to moderate showers are expected in districts like Uttarkashi and Rudraprayag. Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh is also anticipated to experience a gradual easing of rainfall, following days of severe weather that led to flooding in various districts.
Conversely, southern India is bracing for heavy rainfall, particularly in Karnataka, where very heavy showers are expected on September 29, along with thunderstorms. The IMD has cautioned that this heavy rainfall may persist through October 1. Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are also predicted to receive significant rain during this period, with storm activity likely in parts of Maharashtra as well.
In the Northeast, states including Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, and Tripura are under a heavy rain warning, with thunderstorms expected on September 29. The IMD has forecasted continued heavy rainfall in the region into the following day. The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are also likely to experience thunderstorms as a depression in the north Andaman Sea moves towards the northeast Bay of Bengal.
