Sree Charani reached 817 rating points, surpassing Megan Schutt's previous record of 806.

In a remarkable achievement, Indian spinner Sree Charani has set a new record in the ICC Women’s T20I Bowling Rankings, becoming the highest-rated bowler in the history of the rankings. On Tuesday, the latest update revealed that Charani has reached an impressive 817 rating points, surpassing the previous record of 806 held by Australia’s Megan Schutt since November 2018. This new milestone places Charani 11 points ahead of the former record holder.
Charani's ascent in the rankings can be attributed to her outstanding performance during the Asian Games final against Sri Lanka, where she delivered an exceptional bowling display, taking 2 wickets for just 13 runs. This stellar performance was pivotal in leading India to a commanding 147-run victory, ultimately securing the gold medal for the team and marking a significant milestone in Charani's career.
The latest rankings update also saw movement among several Indian batters. Smriti Mandhana made a notable return to the top five of the Women’s T20I batting rankings after scoring 79 runs off 46 balls in the Asian Games final. Her innings included five fours and seven sixes, contributing to India's highest total of 216/3 in the tournament. Additionally, Richa Ghosh climbed three spots to 25th place after her impressive unbeaten 49 runs from just 22 balls.
The rankings also reflect the performances in the bronze-medal match, where Pakistan defeated Bangladesh, leading to changes among bowlers as well. Pakistan’s Fatima Sana climbed four places to 23rd after scoring 45 runs, while Bangladesh's Sharmin Akhter gained ten spots to reach 35th after her 46 runs. Other significant movements included Pakistan's Nashra Sandhu returning to the top 10 and India’s Kranti Gaud moving up to 53rd.
