Motorola Razr Wide Foldable Specifications Revealed Ahead of Launch
Motorola's upcoming wide foldable phone is set to compete with the Galaxy Z Fold8 and iPhone Duo, featuring impressive specs and a competitive price.
The Motorola Razr wide foldable will feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor and up to 12 GB of RAM.
It is expected to have a 5,000 mAh battery and IP48/IP49 ratings for water and dust resistance.
The device will be released by the end of this year in two distinct colors.
Motorola is gearing up to launch its first wide foldable smartphone, which is anticipated to hit the market by the end of this year. According to recent leaks, this device will be smaller than its main competitors, the Galaxy Z Fold8 and iPhone Duo, yet it promises to deliver impressive specifications. The company hinted at this new model during the iPhone Duo launch earlier this month, and the latest reports have provided further insights into its features.
Internally referred to as the 'razr flex' with the codename 'Parker,' this wide foldable will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, the same processor used in the Motorola Razr Fold. Although this chip is not the latest on the market, it remains a strong performer. The device is expected to come with a base model offering 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of non-expandable storage, with additional storage options likely available.
The display specifications are noteworthy, featuring an outer display of 4.97 inches with a resolution of 1,736x1,140 pixels, and a larger inner display measuring 6.92 inches with a resolution of 1,728x2,364 pixels. Both displays will utilize OLED technology, boasting a refresh rate of 165 Hz and support for HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision. While the Motorola Razr will be smaller and have lower resolution displays compared to the Galaxy Z Fold8 and iPhone Duo, it is expected to excel in battery performance with a 5,000 mAh dual-cell battery and 25W Qi2 charging.
In terms of design, the device will feature a power button that also serves as a fingerprint scanner, located on the right side, along with a dedicated AI button. When unfolded, the dimensions will measure 110x149x5.8 mm, and when folded, it will be 110x76x12.6 mm, weighing 215 grams. This makes it slightly heavier than the Galaxy Z Fold8 but lighter than the iPhone Duo.
The Motorola Razr wide foldable is set to launch in two color options: Pantone Coriander and Pantone Dark Botanical Garden. As the release date approaches, tech enthusiasts are eager to see how this device will perform in a market dominated by established competitors.
