Panghal faced an uphill battle after losing the opening round with a score of 4-1. However, he responded effectively in the second round, winning it 3-2 on the judges' scorecards. The Indian boxing team has already surpassed its previous medal count from the last Asian Games, with six boxers reaching the medal rounds this time. Narender Berwal, who won bronze in the men’s +90kg category in Hangzhou, is also set to compete later for a chance to join Panghal and Hooda in the finals, further boosting India's hopes for a successful boxing campaign.
